Very Good

Location near to XMD but hotel is facing the main road, despite being on the top floor. The sound of vehicles are still pretty loud.

The yellow lightings make the room a little old. Probably need a little renovation.

Good location and affordable price. Friendly staff. Does the job for a night or two

Rooms smell a bit musty and carpet didn't look like it had been cleaned properly. Bathroom very outdated. No plug sockets near the beds.

For the location, not the room.

Location was about 10 mins walk to Ximen Station. It is convenient to walk within Ximenting, although after a while, you will realise that XMT is not that big afterall. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a morning flight and had to leave by 5am. Staff helped to secure a cab with the right details and it was already waiting for us by the time we checked out. Excellent service!

The room is really not worth the money. The bathroom is very old; the bathtub is the kind you find in the 1990s. It had a very very very slow water flow. You are literally constantly soaked in water up to the calves when bathing. Room flooring has no carpet, you walk on bare floor. There were no replacement of room slippers on the 2nd day, we were too tired to ask for new ones as well, so had to walk on bare feet.

Great value stay in Taipei!

- Value for money in general - Hotel is near shopping / about 10-15 minutes leisurely walk to Ximending - Our rooms have nice view of the river - The room+breakfast rate we got at booking.com for all guests is a good buy - Breakfast selection was great - Breakfast restaurant was with superb view of the river about 180 degrees wide

- Generally clean but the wire of the hairdryer was very disgusting to even attempt to hold - No iron / ironboard - We wanted to ask for a plate to eat our take out food but staff cannot even let us borrow a real plate - No security measures from the lift to which floor guests can access - Rooms have literal keys with wooden block keychain

The light is directly above the bed and it is too dark if we only leave the bed lamp on ( offing all the others) so it is contradicting to decide to sleep with light on or off.

I will never go back to Riverview Taipei

Location accessible to Ximen shopping area is the only plus.

The hotel is very old (carpet, bath tub and wardrobe etc). The bath tub inside my brother's room even flooded which interrupted our schedule. This was the first time i stayed in a hotel which still used key instead of a smart card. The privacy is also compromised as the sound proof of the room's door is really bad; could hear opening/closing of doors early in the morning and people talking along the corridor. It is time for the hotel to be renovated and refurnished with up to standard facilities.

Excellent view of the Danshui River and near Ximending shops, though quite a walk

Panoramic view of the Danshui River at the Dining Area at the 12th floor. Excellent Breakfast Buffet with different menu everyday. Clean linens and fast elevator. Clean rooms though shows signs of old age. Has empty ref to put own stuff in. Room has basic amenities and bed is quite hard, but okay for me. Good housekeeping. Wifi in room is fast. Strong water pressure in the shower. Staff speaks little English but are very pleasant and accomodating. Free shuttle going to and from hotel and Ximen MRT station. Hotel has seen better days but if you just want a decent place to sleep in and eat delicious breakfast, better to stay here. I'd say good value for money here. Just manage your expectations that this hotel is not new, but it's clean. Has towels, slippers and toiletries. Free water bottle. Electric kettle. Empty Ref. Voltage is 110 V in rooms.

Aircon cannot be controlled since it is centralized, but temperature was okay so no issue. Room smells of old furniture.

No more next time

The window view was really nice. The bellboy were friendly and helpful

The hotel staff were unfriendly. The after service were bad. Once they collected payment and handled our check-in process, they simply ignored us or doesn't really give us constructive answers to our enquiry. I suspect they didn't treat us like a guest as we were wearing relaxed dress code in tees and berms instead of business outfit. Their response to us is not very friendly. The hotel room give out weird engine noise that creep out me and my fiancée. Definitely won't recommend any of my friends to stay in this hotel given their service. Service attitude is bad. No more next time
